night running

I am an evening runner. Yes, I now classify myself as a Runner.

I so light heartedly signed myself up for the Nike Women’s Marathon… thinking “oh, wow this is going to be SO FUN!!”  Now I have to face the consequences of having to train for this dang run because I refuse to waste $75 + the right to say that I’ve run a half marathon in hilly San Francisco.

After 5 months of practically zero exercise except riding my bike like a speed demon to class because like usual, I am running late… I have to train for this 13.1 mile marathon.

Nowadays I wake up and EVERYTHING is sore and I know that that night I have to run again. However, much as I sometimes dread the training and I would rather choose to sit on my butt, watch a rerun of Law&Order, and eat a bag of hot funyuns, I love knowing that my training is going to pay off, that one day a 10 mile run won’t be so difficult anymore, that my body will have been trained enough to be able to take on the next day’s extra miles.
